Buying
his first set of decks at thirteen for £100 from 'Trade It' gave Clipz
the outlet he was looking for. He was given a load of old rave records with
the decks he bought and for the next three years Clipz did little else but
shut himself in his room and practice mixing. At 16 he went to music college
in Weston-super-Mare and in 2002, Roni Size took Clipz into the studio to
check out his production skills. Having always dreamed about joining the
label - Clipz reached his ultimate dream aged 22. The prolific producer
already has a discography longer than many and tunes like 'Cocoa' and 'Funk
Physics' are already classics. Clipz has always striven to take his music
to a new audience and this led him to producing his debut album entitled
'Livin Drumz' which was out in June 2005 to great success. A future legend?

Die grew up surrounded by music, his parents took him to festivals and as
well as his dad's guitar playing, he loved everything from house to hardcore.
In 1988 Die met Krust and the Fresh Four crew and really got into mixing
as a DJ which led him to the sounds of Drum & Bass. Full Cycle was established
and in 1994 Die's first collaboration with Roni Size titled 'Agility' was
released for V recordings. Soon after, Roni and Die produced 'Music Box',
and the work-hard play-hard perfectionist began forging his own style and
in 1997, Reprazent gave him international acclaim as one of the four producers
for the New Forms album which was awarded the Prestigious Mercury Music
Prize in the UK. Currently, he is just putting the finishing touches to
the 'The Lost Plates' album for Full Cycle which features unreleased tracks
from Roni Size, Krust and Die - to be released in early 2006. |

this show had an in-house orchestra, it would be LEE COOMBS' - Pete Tong,
Radio One. From the start of his DJ career in 1989 Lee Coombs bathed himself
in acid house parties in and around London and Cambridge. It was whilst
working at Intergroove in the late nineties that he met with Finger Lickin'
label boss Justin Rushmore. The rest is history. Coombs' contribution to
Finger Lickin meant that his acid-angled productions gave him a float all
of his own. Seb Fontaine and Pete Tong ,Paul Oakenfold all noted Coombs
as the 'man to watch' after his 'Future Sound Of Retro' album was released
on Finger Lickin' Lee has moved on to become one of the biggest names in

B is the man behind the seminal breaks night Air which was originally created
in the basement of London's infamous Blue Note club back in the 90s. Now
days it can be found at the Rhythm Factory, where it is by far the venue's
most popular night. Alongside resident Ali B, anyone who's anyone in breakbeat
has played, from The Plump DJs to Freq Nasty, Stanton Warriors, Meat Katie,
Tayo, Krafty Kuts and more and usually all on the same night.Ali's a busy
man. He's a Fabric resident and his compilation for the London club, has

became a DJ because I couldn't Breakdance. Taking its name from the night
he'd started promoting, Mo' Wax Please, Mo' Wax the label was set up in
1993, Mo' Wax has taken the Lavelle musical approach to great heights with
such release’s as the 1996 DJ Shadow's seminal 'Entroducing', a record
that turned music on its head and catapulted Mo' Wax into the spotlight
as never before. Moving forward James found himself being overtaken by business
and celebrity and chose this time to decamp to Los Angeles to spend three
months working on a new brainchild, an album of his own, to be called UNKLE.
It took five years. With contributions from Ian Brown, Richard Ashcroft
and Thom Yorke, UNKLE was an immense piece of work, the Britsh alternative
dance record that James had always envisaged making. |

Dance
music has been the biggest part of Rhymes’ life from a young age.
Inspired by early hip hop and electro a la Kraftwerk and Doug E. Fresh,
he purchased his first set of decks at 15 and caught the bug in a bad way.
Years later friend Justin Drake DJ and Clive Henry joined forces and the
trio became Peace Division, a project that gained props from every corner
of dance music without exception. Leaving Peace Division to focus on his
own material Dylan set about working on a breakbeat track for Junior Boys
Own. The result was 1996s “Naked & Ashamed” which became
one the label’s biggest tracks. Since then he has had countless releases
and his new single Fashion Kills (taken from ther album Dead Famous) is
flying up the dance charts here in OZ. |
